Hockey's Butchers

Using the finest quality meat, locally sourced where possible, Hockey’s butchers are able to offer tasty meat and poultry with a personal traditional butchery service. With a wealth of experience behind them they are ready to help with any specific requirements. All sausages and burgers are handmade at the farm, using a variety of own recipes.

Hockey’s own New Forest Marque pork achieved Great Taste Award, 3 Gold Stars for its Hand of Pork and Sausages.

During Pannage Season, Hockey’s pigs can be found roaming freely in the surrounding New Forest. Pannage Season runs in late Autumn and allows the pigs to forage for acorns and beech nuts, which create a delicious and distinct flavour to the meat, as mentioned in the National Geographic Traveller.

Hockey’s butchers also work in conjunction with other local farmers. Wendy Maughan, a New Forest Marque member at Forest Meats @ Manor Farm provides quality local meat from award winning native breed animals produced at Manor Farm near Cadnam. As well as Folds Farm providing longhorn beef and dexter beef. The majority of animals are bred and reared on the family run farm in the New Forest and then grazed freely on the open forest commons and woodlands.

Andrew Bishop’s Beef Farm is just outside Ringwood. Andy’s cattle are grazed on water meadows, land which has been in his family for two generations and which supports sainfoin - a pollen rich plant much loved by the bees and which is rich in protein that can be utilised well by ruminants.

During the Christmas period, excellent slow grown free-range bronze turkeys reared in Sway, New Forest, by Paul Tanner and his family are available to order. Paul also produces free-range chicken and geese.

Fruit and Vegetables

Hockey’s are reducing their plastic use on all the fruit and vegetables they sell, they are all supplied loose and ready for weighing.

In season they stock New Forest produce such as Rhubarb, Lettuce, Asparagus, Strawberries, Raspberries and Blueberries as well as Isle of Wight Tomatoes and a full range of fruit and vegetables all year round.

Dairy

Crook and Churn Dairy based in North Dorset, supply Hockey’s Farm with a fantastic range of cheeses from both local producers and other artisan cheesemakers as well as plain and flavoured yogurts and butter. Delicious Non-Homogenised organic jersey milk from Ivy House Farm along with Crook and Churn Cream is now also available in glass bottles. Lyburn Farmhouse Cheesemakers make a variety of different hand made cheeses, all of which are made from their own cows milk, a selection of their award winning cheeses can also be found at Hockey’s.

New Forest Ice Cream and Purbeck Ice Cream provide Hockey’s with their high quality and great tasting individual ice creams so you can enjoy them while sitting in our fairy corner as well as New Forest Ice Cream 1ltr ice cream tubs so you can take the mouth-watering flavours home.

Eggs

Fluffetts Farm supply the eggs to Hockey’s from their hens living on two independent family run farms on the edge of the New Forest and on Cranborne Chase. Their eggs are hand collected twice a day so customers always get the freshest eggs available. Ben Jackson and his team grade and pack the eggs at Hockey’s.

Bread

BakeHouse24, Ringwood, is an artisan bakery specialising in traditional sourdough methods to produce the finest breads, pastries and cakes. A selection of their bread is available at Hockey’s along with their Cinnamon Buns which are a Hockey’s staff favourite.

Cowdrys Dorset Family Bakery based in Dorset since the 1830's, only use top quality ingredients to ensure they offer top quality products to their customers. Their white and granary loaves, as well as their large rolls are available in the farm shop.
